His track &#8220;Just a Friend&#8221; was the only track of his to make it to the all-genre Top 100 charts at no. 9, as well as making it to no. 5 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Biz Markie - Just A Friend (Official Video)\" width=\"720\" height=\"540\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9aofoBrFNdg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>His debut album &#8220;Goin Off&#8221;, released in 1988, featured his charismatic character with the first track &#8220;Pickin&#8217; Boogers&#8221;. In fact, if there had to be a list of the 3 top rappers whose vocals had been scratched to oblivion in hip hop, then Biz Markie would surely top the list, closely followed by Slick Rick &amp; Run DMC.
