It’s a bold claim! The BEST production trick of 2024. Well you can decide for yourself as we learn how to transform a fairly generic Electric piano loop into a lush otherworldly affair.

In this great little short from The Sample Mania channel, helpful production wiz Manuel Metzger quickly breaks down the process in a few easy-to-follow steps. He is using FL Studio but the processes he uses could be applied to any DAW.

• Step 1: Print your MIDI melody loop to audio
• Step 2: Pitchshift it up 1 octave
• Step 3: Reverse the audio
• Step 4: Stretch it too twice the original length
• Step 5: Add the following processing: EQ, Sooth (Unwanted resonance suppressor) Compressor, Flanger, Reverb (LOTS) and shaper box 2.
• Step 6: Print to audio again
• Step 7: Reverse it back
• Step 8: Stretch it back to its original pitch and tempo

The result sounds pretty cool to me! I would suggest experimenting with various different effects at Step 5 to see what other textures can be produced using this method.
