Interface updates

The Bitwig interface has been refined for a cleaner, smoother and more modern feel. One of the biggest changes is that your editing tools now live in a hand palette on the right-hand side of the UI, which gives you faster access without cluttering up your workspace.

Stay in Key, Effortlessly

You can now set a project-wide/global key signature. Your piano roll and plugins can now use this global setting, so you’re always snapped into the right key.

Automation updates

Editing automation is now smoother than ever.

  • Automation Spread – Randomize automation values across a range for natural, humanized movement. Perfect for evolving pads or lively modulations.
  • Automation Hold – Freeze a parameter at a fixed value until the next point, making complex envelopes simple to manage.
  • Automation Clips – This is the big one: automation now exists as its own clip type, so you can loop it, move it, stretch it, or drop it anywhere – just like MIDI or audio.
  • Visual Upgrades – Automation curves are easier to see and tweak, with cleaner lane handling inside the editor.

Clip Aliases

Stop copy-pasting the same loop over and over again. With clip aliases, you can now duplicate patterns across your track – and when you edit one, they all update. Need one to break free? Just hit ‘Make Unique’.

Who can access the beta

Anyone who owns a copy of Bitwig Studio, Producer, or Essentials license with an active Upgrade Plan will be able to find the beta installers in their user profile on the Bitwig website.
