Native Instruments Enters Preliminary Insolvency
NI (Native Instruments GmbH) – the music tech stalwart behind classic and iconic music tools like Maschine, Kontakt, Traktor, Reaktor, and Massive has entered into preliminary insolvency proceedings. Court documents are showing that an insolvency administrator has now been appointed. This means the companies finances are being restructured by external oversight, rather than the NI executives.
This is huge news for NI, who have been a cornerstone of the electronic music production world for decades, shaping the way in which producers create digital music worldwide. The brand also consists of iZotope, Plugin Alliance, and Brainworx which are all now caught up in this transition.
The outcome here is very uncertain: parts of the business could be sold off, reorganised, or acquired. For users, this raises questions about future updates, customer support, and product development for the tools and platforms they’ve invested in.
Stay tuned for updates as more news comes out.
