Set your phasers to stun as we unveil 5 stunning free phaser plugins we found that will be a great adornment to your plugin collection – we showcase free phaser plugins that have a boatload of functionality to ones that are super simple and straightforward so you can just get the job done.

Let’s jump in and take a look!

MPhaser

MPhaser is a full-feature free phaser plugin with loads of flexibility and opportunities for customisation, using its easy-to-use user interface. Adjustable oscillator shapes, up to 100 filters, and saturation, among other features give this plugin its unique character.

Blue Cat’s Phaser

Blue Cat’s Phaser is a multi-stage analog-style phaser effect. It has up to 32 phasing stages, a stereo spread control, sine or triangle LFO shapes, along with in or out-of-phase feedforward and feedback paths. Not bad for a completely free plugin!

Chow Phaser

Originally Inspired by the Schulte Compact Phasing ‘A’, Chow Phaser digital representation. With both mono and stereo modes – its skewed LFO was modelled on the characteristics of light-dependent resistors, along with nonlinear filters that add warmth and dirt.

HY-Phaser

Pretty much a standard phaser plugin with a couple of tricks up its sleeve – including three envelope followers to modulate the depth and feedback of the phaser effect, along with one for the volume of the wet signal. Highpass and lowpass filters to control the bandwidth entering the phaser circuit. An array of LFO types including (sine wave, triangle, ramp up, ramp down, square and random).

Phaser

Here we have a super simple and effective phaser plugin that does everything it needs to in an easy-to-use package. It has all the standard features you’d find on a run-of-the-mill phaser plugin – but also includes an Order Knob with which higher order setting will increase the order of the filters used by the phaser, creating a more pronounced effect with more peaks and troughs, and a Spread Knob which adds a phase offset for the cutoff modulation between the left and right channels, for a stereo widening effect.
