Transit 2 – Baby Audio & Andrew Huang
We woke up this morning to a new video on the Andrew Huang channel which is an in-depth look into the latest iteration of Transit 2 by Huang and Baby Audio.
It seems that Baby Audio and Andrew Huang have taken their existing plugin to new heights by adding swathes of creative potential.

What is Transit 2?
Transit was designed to be a complete solution for designing transitions, but is also a multi-fx processor and motion designer.
Transit provides a simple way to reduce the number of individual plugins and automation on a single channel, enabling the user to create incredible transition fx faster in one place. The second iteration of Transit has been focused at giving users more creative use cases for the plugin.
The big Transition Control macro knob is front and centre of the plugin, giving control of multiple FX parameters simultaneously.
New features
New Motion Modes:
LFO: Fully configurable LFO for linking with effect parameters using traditional waveshapes (Sine, Triangle, Saw and Square). Host sync or free rate options are available. Range parameter to set the start and end point of the LFO. Smooth control to soften the wave shape.
Follower: Make your parameters move dynamically as they react to the intensity of incoming audio signals. Set a range, sensitivity, attack/release to get your desired results.
Sidechain: This lets dynamics of a different source signal than Transits input control your transitions and motion effects. Simply select another audio source from your session and, like Follower, customize the range, sensitivity and the attack and release time to tailor the response to your sidechain input signal.
Gate: Click chosen duration value to start a transition, let go of your click to finish the transition early. The Pendulum option starts a sweep through of the transition back and forth. Finally the loop setting allows you to repeat the transition endless whilst holding down a gate division.
New effects:
Loop: Make stutter and repeat effects synced to the host tempo or set freely. Use the Length control to set the duration, and Smooth control to affect the transient characteristics. Blend in over the course of a transition to make exciting builds.
Reverser: Set the Memory control to a set length that reverses slices of incoming audio. The slice length can be set in tempo divisions or milliseconds and gives options for half-speed double-speed or regular-speed playback. The Smoothing control will soften the onset and release of each slice.
Warp: Warp gives the ability to bend the sound up and down in speed similar to changing the speed of a vinyl record or tape machine. The core setting achieves this effect with total smoothness and flexibility, but if you venture to the Stretch slider it’ll add glitchy effects and mangle your sound for more experimental vibes.
Retroverb: A more vintage and grainy sounding reverb that the existing module. Based on early FDN reverbs it includes tone roll-off and modulation controls for an unmistakable vintage flavour.
Mod Filter: A stereo filter bank featuring multiple filters at varying frequencies from left to right, producing a hypnotic swirling effect. The Spread control adjusts the modulation linked to the LFO, delivering dynamic movement akin to an enhanced rotary speaker. Sync to your DAW or adjust freely in Hz.
Compressor: A transparent downwards compressor offering an alternative to the OTT effect, Its dry/wet feature enables parallel compression for added punch.
Pitch+: A refined pitch shifter offering cleaner sound and a tempo-syncable LFO for vibrato or pitch swings. Adjust for smooth pitch shifts and precision transposing.
Speaker: Emulates the lo-fi, gritty sound of a transistor radio, offering tone shaping via High/Low controls and drive for added warmth and character.
Analog Chorus: A vintage-style BBD chorus effect with rich, wide modulation. The Stereo+ feature expands the soundstage for immersive 3D effects, ideal for transitions.
EQ: Three-band EQ for tone-shaping. 20 dB of boost and 60dB of cut available for each band, the EQ module can be used for subtle adjustments or big frequency shifts.
