What is The Camelot Wheel?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Camelot Wheel provides a simple method to assist in knowing which keys will work together in a production setting, or similarly in a DJ situation where you might want a simple tool to inform which tracks you should mix together. You can even use it to do some chord building! <\/p>\n\n\n

How to use The Camelot Wheel?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each musical key is assigned a number\/letter combination – Major Chords are placed on the outer ring and Minor Chords on the inner ring. Navigating through keys should now be as simple as counting up and down, let’s move on to explain the rules….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a simple and steadfast rule to The Camelot Wheel – You can step one way, clockwise or anti clockwise, and between the inner and outer circle (Up, Down or Around), but remember, only one step in any direction, otherwise you may not be moving into a complimentarty key with your current selection….

Example:
<\/strong>You can mix 8A with itself – but also with 9A, 7A or 8B. If you jumped to 9B would be a non-complimentary key as it’s more than a single step on the wheel away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some DJs will be able to use more advanced techniques such as moving across the wheel from an 8A to 2A track to throw in a few curveballs, but use these with extreme caution as at times this may sound jarring! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
