“Groove is in the Heart”<\/a> is a seminal early 90’s dance classic that remains a firm floor-filler. If you are a keen sample historian you may know that the song’s infectious bassline is lifted from “Bring Down the Birds<\/a>” by Herbie Hancock. You may even be aware that the drums are sampled from Vernon Bunch’s “Get Up<\/a>“. But what about all those deep-cut samples?

Well, one such tiny yet integral sample snippet is the “Ah AhAh Ahha Ahhhhh” sample as featured in the chorus. In this video short, producer, DJ and part-time sample sleuth Luxxury<\/a> reveals that the sample is lifted from the theme music to a 60s TV show called Green Acres<\/a> and the Ahhhh is snatched from a line sung by Eva Gabor<\/a>.
