Cubase 12 is here! The latest upgrade of the popular DAW sees many updates and improvements. These improvements include new mapping options for MIDI controllers, vast improvements to Chord Track and VariAudio features, and more. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Steinberg Cubase 12<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Back in November, Steinberg did hint at Cubase 12 while making their announcement of the abolishment of their eLicenser dongle. Now, a new ID-based licensing system<\/strong> has taken the mantle, and that system was first introduced in Dorico 4 earlier this year. But now the covers are fully off and Steinberg has unveiled the new version of its flagship DAW<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Cubase Features<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Of course, the ID-based licensing system isn\u2019t the only new feature. On top of the fact that Apple Silicon processors are now compatible, Cubase also handles MIDI controllers in a seamless new way. Cubase’s new MIDI Remote Script<\/strong> ensures that Cubase will detect your MIDI controllers automatically. Enhanced mapping options for seamless controller integration to your composition, production, and mixing workflows makes it even than ever to get started jump right into your project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving on, the Chord Track<\/strong> feature has also seen an upgrade. Steinberg says that you can create MIDI chord progressions by dragging and dropping audio events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cubase Pro and Cubase Artist versions now include a Scale Assistant<\/strong> feature in VariAudio. This makes it easy to conduct easier pitch adjustments and timing corrections. A new Free Warp<\/strong> tool in AudioWarp allows you to make timing corrections for multiple tracks at the same time. Cubase Pro and Cubase Artist even allow you to make in-depth modulation effects with its new FX Modulator<\/strong>. FX Modulator features a range of effect modules and an envelope editor!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cubase Pro 12 comes with a new limiter plug-in named Raiser<\/strong>. Another new addition to the factory assortment of plug-ins is the Verve felt piano<\/strong>, which was recorded at the Yamaha Studios in Los Angeles and is available in Cubase Pro and Artist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
