Today, Apple unveiled that two of their heavyweight software packages will be made available for iPad – Logic Pro & Final Cut Pro!

The will be availbale on the App Store for $4.99 per month or $49 per year with a one-month free trial.

Apple says that Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad bring all-new touch interfaces that allow users to enhance their workflow with the power of Multi-Touch. 

You can now access all the power of Logic Pro, with all the portability of iPad to unlock your studio sessions wherever you might be. With multi-touch gestures, swip-to-scroll & pinch-to-zoom, the navgation of complex projects just became a whole lot more natural and interactive.

Plug-in Tiles make it easy to quickly shape sounds by putting the most useful contols right in front of you.

Use the in-built microphones on your iPad, capture voice or instrument recording at the touch of a button. If you own an iPad Pro, any sapce becomes a recording studio, with five studio quality mics at your disposal!

Make precision edits and draw in track automation with the Apple Pencil, and use the Smart Keyboard Folio or Magic Keyboard to use all your usual keyboard shortcuts to speed up your production.

Sound Browser

The new sound-browser displays all your available instrument patches, audio patches, plug-in presets, samples, and loops in an easy to access location, using dynamic filterting to help you find what you need. It features tap to audition on the sounds so you can can hear sounds before loading them directly into your project, great for keeping you in your creative flow.

Pro Instruments & Plug-Ins

There are over 100 included instruments and effects processors in Logic Pro. Creators can now play instruments using a variety of play surfaces using Multi-Touch. Logic Pro on iPad comes with a large selection of realistic-sounding instruments and powerful synths including the new Sample Alchemy — a new sample manipulation tool that can transform any audio sample at the tap of a finger.

Beat Making and Production Tools

Producers will be able to chop/flip samples, make beats and bass lines, and make their own custom drum kits with an awesome set of beat making and production tools.

Beat Breaker, Apples new time and pitch-morphing plug-in, lets producers swipe and pinch to reshape and shuffle sounds.

Quick Sampler can chop and transform audio samples into entirely new instruments with the ability to perform them using touch controls.

Step Sequencer lets users program their own drum patterns, bass lines, and melodies, along with the ability to draw automation for plug‑ins with just a few taps.

Drum Machine Designer now enables creators to make cutsom drum kits by applying samples and unique plug‑ins to a drum pad.

With Live Loops, users can quickly and easily build arrangements by mixing and matching musical loops.

Pro Mixer

The new full featured mixer comes complete with channel strips, volume faders, pan controls, plug‑ins, sends, and precise automation – all the things you’d come to expect from a flagship digital audio workstation— but with the added ability to create a professional mix entirely on iPad. Multi-Touch enables creators to move multiple faders at once, and the mixer meter bridge lets them quickly navigate an overview of track levels.

Import and Export 

You can move projects between Logic Pro for Mac and iPad. iPad users will be able to export their finished tracks in a wide array of audio formats, as well as individual audio track stems. Music creators will also have the ability to make a soundtrack in Logic Pro for iPad and export it into Final Cut Pro for iPad — providing more flexibility for working across the two mutilmedia apps for music and video. Logic Pro for iPad also supports projects created in GarageBand for iOS.

On Tuesday 23rd May, Logic Pro for iPad will each be launched via the the App Store for $4.99 per month or $49 per year with a one-month free trial.
