Last week, Ableton announced the launch of a potential new product “Move” in a video with the date October 8, 2024, and this week sees what could be a leak of the new gear on Reddit… Let’s take a look at what we know so far on the Ableton Move leak!

A leaked photo on Reddit?

In the past few days, a ‘leaked’ photo featuring a potential Ableton Move hardware device has surfaced on Reddit alongside some rumours surrounding features and pricing.

From what we can see in the image Ableton Move will have an 8×4 pad grid, with separate step buttons underneath, and a tiny display in the top left corner. The build quality looks typical of Ableton’s other devices, and wouldn’t look out of place next to their existing Push hardware.

Other rumoured features and pricing

  • Limited to 4 tracks due to design of step sequencer.
  • Seamless integration with Ableton Live, with WiFi for Ableton Link support.
  • Sampling option via line input & built-in microphone, along with a built-in speaker.
  • Lightweight, slim form factor for portability and mobile use.
  • Ableton Note (iOS) integration.
  • Battery powered.
  • Pricing has been rumoured at around the $470 mark.

Also noted is the similarity to the Ableton Note app for iOS – which would make sense for portable performances and jams, potentially adding new functionality to the software.

As we said, all of the above are rumours, so we’ll follow up with a full roundup of the actual announcement on the 8th October!
