After all the leaks and speculation on Reddit, the announcement has finally happened! But before we explain exactly what it is, why not build the suspense and watch of the official launch video featuring the all new Ableton Move in action!

What is Ableton Move?

Ableton Move is a standalone, battery powered music-making device designed to capture creativity on the go. With four individual tracks for drums, synths, and samples, it gives users the ability and flexibility to create wherever inspiration hits. The device includes 32 velocity-sensitive pads with polyphonic aftertouch, enabling expressive beat-making and performance, also acting as a step sequencer.

Move can tether with Ableton Live, the industry-standard DAW, as a software controller, but is primarily designed as a standalone device. It features a quad-core ARM processor, and an internal 64 GB SD card to store projects, sounds, and presets. Move users can access 1,500+ sounds, offering a wide palette of instruments and effects to dive into. Additionally, real-time parameter automation allows for creative manipulation during performance or production, while the built-in microphone and speaker ensure you can capture ideas and listen without external equipment.

We think this is a super cool way to get sketches down on the fly, exactly when inspiration hits – then use the export function to quickly and easily get the project over to Live to add more detail and finesse to your productions.
