Spotify and Shopify: The Dynamic Duo Team Up to Enable Artists to Sell Their Merch on the Streaming Platform!
All Spotify artists that sign up for the first time on Shopify get a 90-day free trial. All artists can directly link their Shopify stores directly their Spotify pages!
Whether you’re a solo artist or you’re surrounded by a team, you can list your merch on your Spotify page by connecting your Shopify store to your Spotify for Artists page, reports MusicTech.
As soon as the two pages are linked, you can manage your inventory and all orders from Shopify and any updated inventory information will automatically appear on your Spotify page. Should you run out of a piece of merch, your Spotify page will automatically display this information to your fans.
Spotify continues to create new avenues for artists to easily manage their brand as they wish to create stronger fan and artist relationships on their platform. Displaying merch and ticketing information on artists pages will also boost revenues for artists as fans no longer need to work as hard to find third party stores!
However, artists are only limited to featuring three pieces of merch on their Spotify page. To enable this feature, log in to your Spotify for Artists dashboard on your desktop. Then navigate to the “Profile” tab and click “Merch”. Here you can choose the three items from your store.
For the time being, you can only link one Shopify account per each Spotify for Artists page you may have. Shopify is offering a 90 day free trial for all artists on Spotify to get the word out about this game-changing feature!
This cross-platform feature is only in beta, for now, meaning only Spotify listeners in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand will only be able to see merch on the platform. However, any artist can link their Shopify and Spotify accounts right now.
Spotify has stated: “the Spotify for Artists team is focused on developing new tools and resources to help artists turn listeners into fans, fans into superfans, and, ultimately, earn more — not just through music, but also merch, ticketing, tipping, Fans First emails, and more“.
