The Ultravoice UV1 channel strip by Behringer includes a Midas mic preamp, compressor, de-esser, enhancer, and gate. The UV1 is your one-stop shop vocal recording chain with an audio interface included for good measure.

The Behringer Ultravoice UV1 channel strip features a microphone preamp and voice processing chain, as well as an integrated USB audio interface and monitoring section. Get your mic, hook it up to the XLR jack and connect the UV1 to your computer via USB. Your vocal recording chain is ready to go!

The XLR-1/4” combo input on the front is directly wired to a Midas microphone preamp which offers a maximum of 60 dB in gain increase. WE can boost line signals by up to 45 dB, and the preamp features phantom power as well as a low cut filter we can switch on and off for eradicating those pesky noise floor rumbles our mic may or may not pick up, reports gearnews.com.

For external effects, there are send and return jacks featured on the back of the hardware too.

In the processing section of the unit is four individual modules. They include a compressor with two simple Drive and Density controls, and a gain reduction meter. A de-esser with frequency and threshold controls, an enhancer with LF and HF Detail controls, as well as an expander/gate section – also with threshold and ratio controls.

The integrated USB audio interface allows us to keep our recording station neat and tidy. Al we actually need to bring is our microphone when recording on our computer.

Of course, we can use the XLR or 1/4” analog line output to connect the UV1 to an external mixer interface, the integrated interface means this is wholly unnecessary.

The UV1 converts audio with speeds up to up to 192 kHz sample rate / 24 bit depth.

The monitoring section of the UV1 includes a headphone output and a level knob. The mix knob even allows you to blend the direct input signal and USB playback signals for zero-latency monitoring.

The Behringer Ultravoice UV1 is looking to be quite a bit of kit. For voice-over or vocal recording, the UV1 promises to be the all-in-one solution to your woes.

No details of when Behringer will release the UV1, the price is listed as $179.
