The long-awaited RX 9 by iZotope has arrived! The latest version includes all-new smart tools that’ll save your audio… and time.

Powered by machine learning, RX 9 includes a Dialogue Isolate feature and a Complex mode for its Ambience Match feature. Also included is a dynamic filter for the De-hum module, crucial for that pesky noise floor!

The Dialogue Isolate feature separate audio dialogue from noise. That is, it segregates unwanted signals from wanted signals – via machine learning.

iZotope boasts that Dialogue Isolate can independently discover and extract dialogue from non-static background noise such as low-end rumbles and chatter. Can you feel it? Can you feel your workflow speeding up?

Complex mode for Ambience Match allows you to match the noise floor between two different recordings with so much more ease. What this means in a practical sense is the ease of applying the same atmosphere to a studio recording to a recording made on a movie set. This will not only save time, but it may actually save a movie producers budget! They only need to record a partial piece of a scene on set to be able to match the rest of the scene via studio recording!

Next for the De-Hum module.

Like the other features we’ve mentioned, this has been upgraded with a brand new Dynamic filter type that covers a wider range than the Static type. The static type only covers the fundamental frequency as well as up to 16 harmonics.

To beat this limited range, the Dynamic filter makes use of up to 1,024 dynamic notch filters that are designed to adapt to incoming signal levels. This results in a more natural-sounding attenuation of sounds that aren’t wanted in a way that’s much less likely to manipulate any finalised vocal tracks.

iZotope has knocked the ball out of the park. These are highly detailed features that will save time and improve the effectiveness of the audio dialogue task at hand.
