Burna Boy

Burna Boy, born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu on July 2, 1991, is a prominent Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer. His music blends elements of Afrobeat, reggae, dancehall, hip-hop, and other genres, showcasing a diverse and dynamic style that has garnered global acclaim. Burna Boy’s rise to fame has been marked by hits like “Like to Party” and “Anybody,” propelling him to become one of Nigeria’s most recognizable musical figures. With a vision to take Afro-fusion music to international stages, Burna Boy’s impact extends beyond his home country, evidenced by accomplishments such as being the first African artist to sell out Madison Square Gardens. He has also recorded with many notable artists such as Ed Sheeran, Stormzy and Busta Rhymes.

Davido

Born David Adedeji Adeleke on November 21, 1992, Davido is a successful Nigerian-American recording artist, With roots in Afro-pop, pop, dancehall, reggae, and Amapiano genres. Davido has established himself as one of the most successful Afrobeats artists globally, with hits like “Fall” and “If” garnering international acclaim. His contributions to the industry extend beyond his own career, as he has also launched a record label, DMW, aimed at nurturing the next generation of African musicians. Like Burna Boy Davida has partnered with many esteemed international musicians including Chris Brown, Meek Mill, and Lil Baby.

Niniola

Niniola Apata, born on December 15, 1986, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter known for her contributions to the Afro-house genre. Hailing from Ekiti State, Nigeria, Niniola has established herself as the Queen of Afro-house, blending Afrobeat and house music to create infectious rhythms and melodies that captivate audiences worldwide. With collaborations with prominent artists such as Mr P, DJ Snake, Falz, Afro B, Busiswa, and Juls, Niniola continues to solidify her position as a leading figure in the Afrobeats music scene.

Wizkid

Wizkid, born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun on July 16, 1990, in Surulere, Nigeria, is a groundbreaking Nigerian singer, songwriter, and global music icon. Emerging as a pivotal figure in the Afrobeats movement Wizkid has gone on to reshape the global music landscape with his distinctive sound, blending elements of Afrobeats, R&B, and pop. He is reportedly hailed as the world’s best-paid Afrobeats artist with a net worth believed to be over $21 million. With an impressive discography and chart-topping hits, Wizkid’s impact on the music industry is undeniable, solidifying his status as a trailblazer and innovator in the realm of Afrobeats.

Fuse ODG

Fuse ODG, born Nana Richard Abiona in London in 1988, is renowned for promoting positive perceptions of Africa globally. He’s an artist with a strong emphasis on African identity and culture. Fuse ODG Rose to fame with his 2013 single “Azonto,” which was inspired by the popular Afrobeats dance craze of the same name. He then went on to have a run of notable hits to include “Antenna” “Million Pound Girl” and Dangerous Love, all reflecting his fusion of African rhythms with contemporary music styles. He gained recognition as the first UK artist/producer to be nominated under two categories at the MOBO Awards, showcasing his impact and influence on the global music industry. Additionally, he has been vocal about social issues, including racial profiling, highlighting his commitment to using his platform for positive change

Rema

Rema, born Divine Ikubor in 2000 in Benin City, Edo State, has swiftly risen to prominence as one of Africa’s most promising artists. He is most famous for his collaboration with Selena Gomez, on the single, “Calm Down,” which debuted at number 1 on many charts worldwide. His music showcases a fusion of diverse genres, seamlessly blending Afrobeat, pop, trap, and R&B. Embracing versatility, Rema’s approach to music blurs boundaries, therefore resonating with audiences worldwide. Despite his young age, Rema has demonstrated maturity in his craft, navigating the complexities of life and the music industry with resilience. The future certainly looks bright for this rising star.

Tiwa Savage

Tiwa Savage, born Tiwatope Savage, is a Nigerian vocalist and songwriter. She has carved a niche for herself with her upbeat dance-pop style that seamlessly blends Afropop, reggae, and contemporary R&B. Despite facing challenges within the globalized Afrobeats landscape, Tiwa Savage has achieved long-term success, challenging stereotypes and paving the way for female artists in African music. Savage made history as the inaugural female artist to clinch the Best African Act award at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards. Renowned for her electrifying stage presence, she is considered to be one of the finest Afrobeats artists of this generation

Fireboy DML

Fireboy DML, whose real name is Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan, is a prominent Nigerian singer known for his individualistic range and knack for crafting lyrics suffused with emotion. Signed to YBNL Nation record label, Fireboy DML has risen to fame with his distinct blend of Afrobeats and R&B music styles. Fireball DML’s biggest hits to date include “YAWA” and “PERU” where he features alongside Ed Sheeran.

Mr Eazi

Mr Eazi, born Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade on July 19, 1991, is a prominent Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record executive. He is credited as the pioneer of Banku music, a unique fusion genre blending Ghanaian highlife with Nigerian chord progressions and patterns. Eazi’s musical journey began during his time as a student at Ghana’s Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he initially pursued music as a hobby. His distinct R&B-infused Afrobeat sound has garnered international acclaim, establishing him as a trailblazer within the industry. Beyond his own musical endeavours, Mr Eazi is also recognized for his entrepreneurial vision, notably founding emPawa Africa, a platform dedicated to nurturing emerging talent in the African music scene.

Tems

Tems, born Temilade Openiyi on June 11, 1995, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and producer and is a relative newcomer to the scene. Bursting onto the scene in 2020, Tems’ rise to fame has been marked by notable collaborations and performances. She has featured on tracks with artists such as Drake and Justin Bieber. With her laid-back demeanour and undeniable talent, Tems continues to make waves in the music world, earning her a dedicated fan base and establishing herself as a leading figure in modern Afrobeats
